After a lot of consideration I went with this helmet as I was considering modular for a while, I have a pretty standard shaped head, and bought the exact size recommended. Besides the chin strap, it's very comfy. The strap isn't painful, but it can be a bit awkward to get in a comfortable position. The peak blocks out the low sun, but I'd rather it was wider so that it blocked the sun from the side better. The modular chin feels solid enough, with the latches being some sort of injected aluminum. The clear visor works well, and there's a rubber seal to keep water out.
Ventilation is great while riding even at low speeds.the drop down tinted visor is a bit lighter than preferred, but operates easily, using a single button to quickly move it up, and a like 5 position ratchet for moving it down. If I take off the chin piece I can put the helmet on without removing my glasses which is a big plus.
There's a wind guard on the bottom of the chin which seems useful. But I have a 95 gl1500, so there's not a lot of wind to start with.
There are slots with covers to attach the ncom stuff and run wires. I don't have one yet though.
The chin guard is easy enough to put on or take off with or without the helmet on your head.
Overall happy with the purchase, it is the most expensive helmet I've bought, but after research and personal use post-purchase I'm not complaining one bit.
